the encoding is actually the windows 1252 but as it is unsupported by most programs i just set the output to ISO-8859-1. does setting the encoding to "Windows-1252" does it work?

there is actually already an option to increase the timeouts, open the ini file and in the options section change the item called "Timeouts (ms)" to the number of milliseconds you want to set the timeouts to

not that i know of, it could just be increased traffic, I know that I probably have in the region of 500-1000 users and there is the traffic from the main xmltv application too, i could add an option to configure what the connection and read timeouts are, but as far as i can remember they are set at...

try this one:

it should return 0 if the grab suceeds, 1 if the program is already running and 2 if the grab fails

try this temporary build http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/xmltvrt2.19b.7z and let me know if it fixes the problem (it should definately stop now after a connection error). also increasing the retry delay may help reduce the connection errors

after the 3 retries the grabber should always stop grabbing and not move to the next channel :?

i dont really see how that happens, if the connection fails then the grabber should stop downloading, could you post the log here so i can see exactly what is happening?

try version 2.19 you should now be able to do that by running:
xmltvrt.exe /Grab /D1

Command line options in 2.18

In the changes to the command line options made in 2.18 i have broken the original functionality, as my pc is out of action probably until tuesday i recommend you use version 2.17 until then
